Who we are

Tile Style Lancashire Ltd ("we", "us") is a tiling contractor based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. We're the data controller for the personal details you give us through this website, by phone, by email or in person.

What we collect

• Contact details you give us: name, phone number, email, address or town.
• Job details: the room, measurements, photos you send, tile choices, access notes and timings.
• Quote and invoice records: what we quoted, what we did and what was paid. We don't store card details; payments go through the bank.
• Business contacts: for developer and commercial work, the names and work details of the people we deal with.
• Website enquiries: what you type into the quote and contact forms.
• Website use: which pages are visited, roughly where from, on what kind of device, and how people found the site, counted by Google Analytics. It tells us how the site is used, not who you are, and you can switch it off in the cookie settings.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason for each use. Here's ours.

We never sell your details, and we don't use them for automated decisions or profiling.

Who we share it with

Only people who need it to do the job, and only as much as they need:

• Homematas, our sister business in Bamber Bridge, if your tiles are supplied through them.
• Suppliers and delivery firms, so materials reach the right address.
• Our accountants, and our IT and email providers.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website and screens the forms for spam.
• Google, which provides our website analytics. We have turned off Google's advertising features, so it produces visit statistics for us and nothing else.
• HMRC, insurers or legal advisers, when the law or a claim requires it.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure there are proper safeguards in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't become a job: 12 months, then deleted.
• Customer and job records: six years after the job finishes, for tax and warranty purposes.
• Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe. We keep a note that you've opted out so we don't email you again.
• Website analytics: up to 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically.

Keeping it safe

Records are kept on password-protected systems that only our office team can get into. Paper job sheets stay in the office, not in the van. If something ever went wrong that put your details at risk, we'd tell you and, where required, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• send you a copy of what we hold about you
• correct anything that's wrong
• delete your details, unless we have to keep them by law
• stop or limit how we use them, or object to a use
• pass your details to another company in a usable format
• withdraw consent you've given, such as for marketing emails, at any time
• stop website analytics counting your visits, which you can do yourself in the cookie settings

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we'll tell customers directly.
