How a wet room runs with us
Wet rooms are mostly the bit under the tiles. We plan the drain position, set the former to a proper fall, tank the whole floor and the walls, and flood-test before a single tile goes down.
After a free site visit you come to our showroom for a design visit if required, then get a quote inside a week, and the same team from first board to final grout line. If you need level access, we will talk you through what that means for the floor.
What's included
A wet room is a building job first and a tiling job second. This is the full scope we price for.
Back to joists or slab, so we can see exactly what the floor is made of.
Timber floors stiffened and boarded at close centres. Concrete floors checked and levelled.
Pre-formed shower former and a linear or centre drain, set to the finished floor height.
The floor laid to a steady fall toward the drain, across the whole wet zone.
Walls and floor fully waterproofed and flood-tested. Details in the next section.
Flexible, water-resistant adhesive with a full bed, so there are no voids for water to sit in.
Porcelain rated for wet, barefoot areas, or mosaic where the grout lines give grip.
Water-resistant grout and a walk-through before we leave.
Tanking and waterproofing
A wet room only works if every surface water can reach is sealed behind the tiles. Get this wrong and the ceiling below finds out first. This is how we do it.
Wet room board on walls and floor, screwed and sealed at every joint. No plasterboard in the wet zone.
Reinforced tape on every joint and corner. Pre-formed collars around the drain and every pipe.
Liquid or sheet membrane across the whole floor, and full height on the walls in the shower zone.
We flood the floor and leave it before a single tile goes down. If it holds, we tile. If not, we find out why.
Styles and materials
Whatever look you have in mind, we can source and fit it. Most ranges are on display at our showroom, and we bring samples to your site visit.
What it costs
Wet rooms vary more than any other room we tile, mostly because of what is under the floor. These are guide ranges for the tiling. Tiles are priced once you have chosen them.
What does a wet room cost?Timber floors need stiffening and a former. Concrete may need cutting out for the drain.
Linear drains cost more than centre drains, but allow large-format tiles.
The more floor in the wet zone, the more board, membrane and fall to build.
Walls and floor together.
Adhesive, grout, pvc trim and VAT included. Tiles and preparation works (if required) not included
Guide ranges, 2026, for fitting and fixing materials. Tiles are priced once you have chosen them. You get a detailed, fixed quote after a free site visit and a design visit (if required).

FAQs
Something else on your mind? Ring us on 01772 334428. We'd rather you asked.
If you want level access, or the room is too small for a tray and screen, yes. If you just want a big shower, a low-profile tray costs less and does most of the job.
Yes. Most of ours are. On timber floors we stiffen the joists, fit a former and board the floor before tanking.
Usually five to eight working days, including cure time for the membrane and the flood test.
Matt or textured porcelain rated for wet barefoot areas, or small mosaic. We will show you samples with the rating on the box.
Not if the tanking is right, which is why we flood-test it before tiling. Grout and silicone are not waterproof on their own. The membrane is.
Tell us about it and we'll come and measure up. Free site visit, a design visit (if required), detailed quote inside a week.
