Grey porcelain floor and walls with a dark inlay strip in a leisure centre changing area

The brief

Replace worn changing and toilet facilities at two sites with tiling that looks fresh and survives the traffic of a public leisure centre.

What we did

  1. 01 Levelled every floor area to give a flat base
  2. 02 Installed a Durabase matting system to guard against movement and cracking
  3. 03 Tiled walls and floors using Kelmore adhesive and grout
  4. 04 Finished all edges in brushed chrome trim

The result

Clean, durable facilities at both centres. The preparation underneath is what will keep them that way.

“From the offset they proved to be very helpful in terms of what tile could be offered and lead-in period for the product to be shipped in from Spain.”
Stuart Todhunter, Managing Quantity Surveyor, Krol
