Kitchen floor, carried through the hall and WC

We tiled this kitchen a while back. The owners asked us back to run the same herringbone floor through the hallway and downstairs WC.

Floor
Wood-effect herringbone tiles along a narrow hallway

The brief

Extend an existing kitchen floor into the hallway and WC so the whole ground floor reads as one surface, with no obvious join where old meets new.

What we did

  1. 01 Primed and levelled the hallway and WC floors for a solid, lasting base
  2. 02 Laid porcelain plank tiles in herringbone to match the existing kitchen floor
  3. 03 Set out from the kitchen threshold so the pattern runs on without a break
  4. 04 Grouted in mid-grey for a clean, modern finish

The result

One continuous floor from the front door to the back of the kitchen. Coming back for the second phase is the kind of work we like best.
