Underfloor heating and plank tiles, five rooms

The brief

Replace the floors across several ground floor rooms and make them warmer and more efficient, which meant taking everything up and starting again on an insulated base.

What we did

1. 01 Took up and disposed of the existing floors
2. 02 Laid insulation boards throughout so the heating warms the room, not the slab
3. 03 Installed underfloor heating across every room, split over two independent thermostats
4. 04 Primed and levelled with Kelmore PrimeMore Universal and LevelMore Rapid 30
5. 05 Laid Treverk Faggio 150 × 900 wood-effect planks and grouted in Flex15 Mocha to suit the timber tones

The result

A warm floor underfoot all year round, conservatory included.
